PBE Launch Timeline

Riot activated League Classic on the Public Beta Environment on July 14, 2026—the same day Riot Yina published the full written dev blog and the Official Dev Update: Classic, Mayhem & More video dropped. PBE access arrived two weeks before the July 29 Patch 26.15 global launch at 8:00 AM PT.

Meddler confirmed on Reddit that PBE would let players test Classic systems including rune pages, mastery trees, positional preferences, and the 60-champion roster before live servers open. PBE data informs early Overall Tier List adjustments on this wiki.

How to Access Classic PBE

Download the League of Legends PBE client from Riot's official PBE signup page if you do not already have access. PBE accounts are separate from live accounts—create one through the PBE registration portal and wait for approval if your account is new.

After patching to the July 14 PBE build, open the client and select League Classic from the Featured Game Mode picker—the same category as Arena and URF per Riot's official FAQ. No separate download beyond the PBE client itself.

What to Test on PBE

Priority PBE testing: configure rune pages on Rune Pages, allocate mastery points on Offense Tree, and queue Classic Draft with positional preferences on Role Preferences. Test iconic builds like Atmogs on Iconic Meta Builds and AP Master Yi on AP Master Yi Build.

Report bugs through the PBE client feedback tool—especially skin compatibility issues Meddler flagged after the MSI showmatch where some modern VGU models appeared alongside Classic kits. Champion ownership on PBE may differ from live carryover rules.

PBE vs Live Launch

PBE Classic is a testing environment—balance numbers, champion availability, and cosmetic compatibility may change before July 29. Classic Levels, Seasonal Pass rewards, and The Council voting may be partially disabled or use placeholder values on PBE.

Live launch details on Date & Patch include global regional timing, queue types, and permanent progression systems. When PBE closes or patches forward, switch to the standard Riot Client for production Classic on launch day—see How to Access.
