Council Champion Voting Guide
Guide to Council champion votes in League Classic. Planned additions, voting strategy, and champion addition timeline.
Champion Addition Voting
Champion addition votes are The Council's highest-impact ballots. Each cycle, Riot presents 4–6 candidates from the 2009–2013 champion pool not yet in Classic. Players spend tokens to signal preferences. Top vote-getters enter development and release in subsequent Classic patches.
Confirmed future candidates include Akali, Caitlyn, Fiora, Graves, Irelia, LeBlanc, Mordekaiser, and Urgot from Future Additions. Additional candidates may appear based on community demand and MSI showmatch feedback on Showmatch Recap.
Candidate Profiles
Akali adds stealth assassination depth to mid and top lane drafts. Caitlyn extends ADC roster with trap zoning against current Ashe and Vayne dominance on ADC. Fiora introduces duelist split-push that counters Nasus and Tryndamere on Top Lane.
Graves returns with pre-rework AD caster identity per Pre-Rework Kits. Irelia adds Trinity Force synergy and high-skill outplay. LeBlanc restores burst assassination with Deathfire Grasp combos from Deathfire Grasp Build. Mordekaiser and Urgot bring unique juggernaut identities absent from launch roster.
Voting Strategy
Vote for champions that fill roster gaps in your preferred role rather than purely popular picks. If you main ADC and only own Ashe, Caitlyn votes directly improve your Draft experience. If your team lacks AP burst, LeBlanc votes address composition diversity.
Consider meta impact: LeBlanc and Akali shift mid lane ban priorities away from Kassadin. Graves changes jungle and ADC flex draft dynamics. Research each candidate's historical Season 3 win rates and item synergies before allocating tokens.
Champion Release Timeline
Winning champions enter a development pipeline—typically 4–8 weeks from vote result to live Classic release depending on kit complexity and pre-rework asset availability. Riot prioritizes champions with existing Classic-era code references for faster implementation.
Track release timelines on Upcoming Changes and Date & Patch. IP savers from Get IP in Classic should reserve 6300 IP equivalent for immediate unlock of high-priority vote winners they do not own on live League.
Community Campaigns
Content creators and community leaders organize voting campaigns around favorite champions—similar to early League forum campaigns for champion reworks. Participate respectfully and base arguments on gameplay value, not nostalgia alone.
Riot monitors vote patterns for botting and account sharing violations. Play Classic authentically to earn tokens rather than attempting to manipulate outcomes. Healthy Council participation ensures Classic evolves sustainably across multiple seasons.
