Jump into League of Legends Classic

Everything you need to remaster League Classic after the July 29, 2026 launch: client access, champions, items, runes, macro, and official Riot onboarding video.

Official Remaster Checklist

Riot's Jump into League of Legends Classic update (July 29, 2026) is the onboarding companion for players who just opened the mode. The official video embedded above walks through remastering champions, items, and macro for Season 3-style play inside the live client.

No separate download is required. Open the Riot Client, select League of Legends, and enter Classic from the Featured Game Modes / Classic homepage tabs documented on Classic Client Home. Returning accounts should verify login details at account.riotgames.com before queueing.

Remaster Champions and Kits

Sixty launch champions include the original forty plus twenty 2009–2013 favorites. Ownership carries over from live League; missing picks unlock with IP or Classic Level rewards on IP & Currency. Pre-rework kits for Sion, Kayle, Tristana, and Skarner feel alien if you only know modern versions—Pre-Rework Kits.

Start with forgiving picks on Best Starters and Top Champion Picks. Save IP for the August 12 Patch 26.16 wave previewed on Wave 2 / Patch 26.16 rather than buying every niche mid immediately.

Remaster Items, Runes, and Macro

Rebuild mental models around Deathfire Grasp, Atma's Impaler, Heart of Gold, and gold-per-10 stacking—Classic Items Guide and Iconic Meta Builds. Configure at least three rune pages before Draft using Set Up Rune Pages; slots unlock across Classic Levels 4–8.

Macro is slower: longer laning, aura dragons, Baron sieges, and no scuttle vision—Summoner's Rift and Pacing vs Modern. Practice laning habits from Laning Tips & Tricks, then graduate into week-one draft priorities on Live Week-One Meta.

Queues and Social Goals

Classic offers Draft, Co-op vs AI, and customs—no ranked ladder at launch. Riot positioned the mode for social reunion and experimentation. Unlock Summoner's Journey at Classic Level 10 on Summoner's Journey if you want flex ranks without Ladder stress—No Ranked FAQ.

Track progression goals on First Week Guide and the current first-weekend checklist on Week-One Status. When friends ask what changed since 2013, point them at this page plus the Welcome Back cinematic on Welcome Back Cinematic.
