Ten-Day Window Before the Wave
Between the August 2 first weekend and August 12 patch day you have a clean window to finish foundations. Stabilize three rune pages, claim free Classic Skin defaults, and push Classic Level milestones before the roster expands and Draft chaos resets—Laning Tips & Tricks and Jump into Classic.

Bank IP and Flex Picks
Do not empty the Shop on every niche mid the night before patch. Keep enough IP to unlock at least one of the new three immediately if you do not already own them on live—Get IP in Classic and IP & Currency.
Maintain two comfort picks per role from Best Starters so you are never forced onto an unlearned 26.16 champion in ranked-anxiety Draft—even though Classic has no ranked ladder, ego drafts still lose games.
Practice Matchups Without an API
There is still no public Classic API—Meta Without API. Use customs and Co-op to rehearse: sticky CC into Kennen ult, vision and tempo vs Shen global, and pink-ward or brush discipline vs Akali shroud. Film study from LCK Legend Match (August 4) helps until 26.16 VODs exist.
Update your personal ban list after the first two nights of 26.16. Early editorial tiers on Overall Tier List and Live Week-One Meta will lag; trust squad notes over fake win-rate sites.

August 4 LCK Legend Match, August 12 Patch 26.16, August 17 Hall of Legends reveal, August 26 first Council vote—Week-One Status and Hall of Legends 2026. Progression choices this week should serve both patch day and voting power.
