Automated Rune Recommendations
The Classic Rune Recommender generates optimized rune pages and mastery allocations for every launch champion. Select your champion and role to receive recommended marks, seals, glyphs, quintessences, and mastery point distributions based on Season 3 meta data and Overall Tier List rankings.
Copy recommended pages directly into your Classic client rune editor. Adjust matchup-specific slots using guidance from Set Up Rune Pages for optimal pre-game configuration.
How Recommendations Work
The recommender analyzes champion scaling type (AD, AP, tank, hybrid), role position, and common item builds from Core & Starting to suggest stat priorities. AD carries receive armor pen marks and attack speed quintessences. AP mages receive magic pen marks and AP quintessences. Tanks receive health seals and defensive quintessences.
Mastery recommendations allocate 17–21 points in the primary tree with remaining points in complementary trees. Offense-heavy for carries, defense-heavy for tanks, utility-heavy for supports—matching runes-masteries tree guide pages.
Matchup Customization
After generating base recommendations, use matchup modifiers to swap defensive seals and glyphs. "Vs AP" modifier increases MR seals. "Vs AD" modifier increases armor seals. "Vs CC" modifier adds utility tree Indomitable investment for CC duration reduction.
Save modified pages as custom presets for recurring matchups—AP Sion mid defensive page, Blitzcrank hook dodge page, Kassadin MR page. Page slot limits from Classic Levels determine how many custom presets you can maintain.
Champion Coverage
All 60 launch champions have recommender templates covering all viable roles. Pre-rework kits include specialized pages: AP Sion mid with AP quintessence and Archmage masteries, tank Sion top with health quintessence and Veteran's Scars masteries.
Future Council additions receive recommender templates upon roster inclusion. Graves AD caster, LeBlanc burst assassin, and Caitlyn ADC pages prepare ahead of champion votes on Champion Votes.
Integration with Item Builds
Recommender output includes item build synergy notes connecting rune stats to Legendary Builds paths. AP Yi recommender notes Guinsoo's Rageblade synergy with AP glyphs. Vayne recommender notes armor pen marks stacking with Last Whisper.
Summoner spell recommendations accompany rune pages on Summoner Spells—Flash plus Ignite for mid burst, Flash plus Smite for jungle, Flash plus Exhaust for support defensive setups against fed carries per Beat a Fed Carry.
