FeralPony Official PBE Response
Game Director FeralPony's July 17, 2026 official League Classic response on Riot X. Classic Skins free default, Season 3 cutoff, champion kits, and classic model rollout.
July 17 Official Follow-Up
Three days after League Classic hit PBE on July 14, Game Director FeralPony published an official response vlog on Riot X dated July 17, 2026. The video directly addresses the loudest PBE feedback in three sections: Classic Skins, Gameplay, and Champion kits—supplementing the July 14 Dev Update on Dev Update Video with concrete policy commitments before July 29 Patch 26.15 launch.
This response landed between mid-July datamine reports and the July 24 LCS Classic TSM vs CLG showmatch on LCS Classic TSM vs CLG—giving players clarity on what will and will not change before Classic goes public globally.
Classic Skins: Free, Default, and Expanding
FeralPony reaffirmed Classic Skins are free and become the default champion appearance in Classic mode—no 500 RP barrier after community backlash documented on PBE Feedback Updates. Champions with Classic Skins display those models automatically instead of modern base skins.
Critically, FeralPony stated Riot is working to add Classic models to every champion over time where asset archives and licensing allow—not just the launch roster. Classic Chromas later became free for modern-skin owners on August 3, 2026—see Chromas Now Free. Full cosmetic economy on Classic Skins and Portraits & Chromas.
Gameplay and Season Window
On Gameplay, FeralPony confirmed Classic uses the old bounty system with modern UI overlay—not comeback XP systems some MSI viewers assumed. Riot is restoring original champion voice-over lines where possible, adding authenticity beyond visual models.
Baron Nashor still empowers minions for siege pushes—the iconic Season 3 Baron dance preserved on Summoner's Rift rather than modern Baron buff variants some PBE testers feared. FeralPony framed this as intentional nostalgia, not a placeholder.
The content window tightens from early PBE builds that stretched Seasons 1–5 toward Season 3 exclusively per TheGamer reporting and FeralPony's confirmation. This aligns Classic with the greatest-hits Season 3 anchor from July Dev Blog while pulling back Season 4–5 content that slipped into initial PBE builds.
Champion Kits and Community Requests
The Champion kits section addresses kit-specific feedback like Katarina's swap to her 2012 version on Katarina 2012 Kit. FeralPony signaled Riot listens to PBE testers on which historical kit versions belong in Classic—setting precedent for Council additions on Champion Votes.
Community requests for Twitch's original 50-second pure invisibility remain unconfirmed by Riot—PBE currently uses camouflage instead. See Twitch Classic Kit for the debate. Test kit changes on Classic PBE Guide before July 29 on Date & Patch.
